The stones here speak, because they are a part
of our past and a part of our present.
La Vall d’Alcalà
This aqueduct, which dates from the end of the 16th and the beginning of the 17th centuries, is built with irregular stone masonry, and is today surrounded by nature, although it preserves a semicircular arch made of tiles that crosses the ravine known as Barranc de L'Arc which, together with the group of ravines nearby, seek the source of the River Girona.
Currently, the upper part, through which the water used to run, is covered with earth, so it can be used as a path and a bridge. The monument, which brought water to the village, is relevant because it is located near the rock where legend says that the pact called Pacte del Pouet was signed in the middle of the 13th century between Al-Azraq and Prince Alfons d’Aragó.
