El Ràfol d’Almúnia
Ràfol d'Almúnia is the historical capital of the area known as La Rectoría, made up of Ràfol d'Almúnia, Benimeli, Sanet i Negrals, Sagra and Tormos. This name is due to the fact that Ràfol d'Almúnia was where, in 1535, the only church of the five towns was created by the lord of the area, the Marquis of Almúnia, to counteract the absolute Muslim ancestry of the inhabitants of the town. Ràfol d'Almúnia is a small town of 369 inhabitants whose economic activity is dedicated mostly to the cultivation of citrus trees, that spread all over the sunny side of the Sierra Segaria mountain range.
